klatiTYPE

A typeface built in code, not drawn by hand. Version 0.69.3: 420 characters in four styles, plus a Japanese set.

One stroke, one radius

Stroke
Monoline, 120 units, in verticals, horizontals, curves and diagonals alike.
Corners
One radius, 200, everywhere. Nothing is sharp.
Heights
Capitals 720, lowercase 540. Nothing drops below the baseline: g, j, p, q and y have no descenders.
The k
Its leg leaves the stem at 69°.
Italic
The upright drawing, sheared 13°.
Bold
The same drawing with a 138-unit stroke.
Terminals
Flat cuts only, horizontal or vertical.

Turned, flipped, mirrored

Many letters are other letters turned, flipped or mirrored: one outline, so a fix to one fixes both. Point at a pair and one becomes the other.

Four styles

The four styles, Regular, Italic, Bold and Bold Italic, each setting Latin and Cyrillic letters, Ξ, ₿, € and k69.

Regular and Italic are weight 400, Bold and Bold Italic 700.

420 characters

Every character of klatiTYPE Regular, in code-point order.

Latin with Western and Central European accents, Cyrillic for Bulgarian, Russian, Ukrainian and Serbian, figures with super- and subscripts, punctuation, maths, arrows and 17 currency signs, ₿ and Ξ among them.

The 26 glyphs of klatiTYPE JP: kana, kanji and the yen sign.

26 kana, kanji and signs on a 12 × 12 grid, with a stroke of 69, half the Bold’s. ￥, 円 and 元 cover the yen and the yuan.
